Important Tryout Information

Prior to registering, please read through the skill/conditioning requirements below to ensure your daughter will be physically and mentally prepared for the try-out requirements.

Pre-registration is required online.(Registrations or payment will NOT be accepted on the day of tryouts, registration must be completed ahead of time. Athletes only need to attend 1 tryout. Please do not sign-up for more than 1 try-out.

There is a $20/+ HST non-refundable fee for the tryout.

Please have your daughter come to the tryout on-time, wearing a gymnastic leotard, bare feet, hair tied up, no jewellery. If your daughter does not have a leotard, please dress her in fitted tight bike style shorts, and a tight fitted sports tank. Please NO baggy clothes, ballet skirts, tights, track pants, leggings or sweatshirts.
Key Qualities We Look for in Team Athletes
The following qualities are some of the characteristics our Coaches will consider during the tryouts. There are definitely more factors (and skills!) our Coaches will consider when determining if your daughter is suited for a Showcase or Xcel team.
Physical Qualities

Innate Strength, Flexibility, Coordination, Balance, Endurance, and Agility.
Mental Qualities

Determination, Confidence, Courage, Coachability, Focus, Dedication, and a Strong Work Ethic.

Showcase Teams: Require a 10-month commitment (September -June), and will train from 4-8 hours/week (depending on age/team).
Xcel Skill Expectations

Beam: Back walkover/Front walkover
Full Turn

Floor: Back Handspring (Safety mats are permitted)
Xcel Conditioning Expectations

5-10 Chin-ups (straight body)

Full Rope Climb
Xcel Teams: Require a 12-month commitment (July to June) and will train 12-16hrs/week. These athletes will compete at 3-4 Competitions during the season.
